The new National Minimum Wage rates come into force
on 1 October 2004. At this time the new rate introduced
for 16-17 year olds will took effect, previously workers
under 18 had no limit set.
The new rates are as follows:

Employers need to ensure all of their employees are
paid above the new limits. As this is the first time
a limit has been set for 16-17 year olds particular
attention should be paid to them.
